GTSC Juniors - Defend the Thames Challenge Cup 2025

Our Juniors competed in this year’s Thames Challenge Cup and with a good deal of skill won the cup outright. GTSC entered a crew of 14 sailors, many of whom were competing at their first team racing event. With guidance from Don (team leader) and Rob, and a handful of experienced sailors, we entered two teams, the Goring Kingfishers and Goring Otters. Both teams sailed brilliantly in light winds (a skill we regularly practice down our way) and made lasting partnerships and memories. The Kingfishers pretty much led the way in all their 8 races and came overall first. The Otters improved their position after each of their 8 races and should be proud of their achievements.
