Henley Standard reported on Friday 22 November, the launch of a new trophy at GTSC, to encourage female participation in the sport at GTSC. The Diana Monk Trophy honours Diana Monk, who was an intermittent member of the club for 50 years. This year the prize was won by one of our 'Ladies Who Launch' (LWL) having competed throughout the season and scored enough points to be the first to receive this award.
This trophy is available to girls and women of all age groups who have completed or are capable of completing their RYA stage 1 & 2. They can enjoy excellent coaching on Saturday afternoons from our RYA coaches at the Andrew Simpson Foundation, participate in regular race coaching catch-ups (LWL), and take part in a female race series that continues throughout the season (all included in the membership fee). We eagerly anticipate the new season to discover the new winner of this stunning trophy.
