Goring Kingfishers did it!

This bunch of sailors, our youth club posse, had a fantastic day of hunting down the opposition and very politely (proud!) but firmly drove the competition aside to win this year’s Thames Challenge Cup. Total focus and determination saw them through and the delight at the end was shared with the whole team of supporters. The Goring Otters did an amazing job on the rookie fleet, sailing, sailing and sailing in really tough light flooky (?) winds, held their nerve and came in 7th…very impressive and lots of memories and experiences to take home. Massive shout out to all the mums, dads who stepped up to keep the sailors happy, watered and fed. And to Rob Jones who supported the whole Fleet effortlessly and then cool as you like Don Francis for all the organisation, boat logistics and coordination with the committee at home and away! A huge thanks to all who helped behind the scenes to make it a memorable event for our kids…marvellous. Here’s to retaining the cup in 2025!!
